Tim Stelzer :: Sojourner Proof

For me, photography is the visually holistic right brain stimulation that balances a left brain intensive life as an analytic engineer type.  With a camera in hand, life’s sojourns are not only experienced with a heightened sense of awareness, but also captured for future consumption with each snap of the shutter.  The satisfaction I get from translating and archiving an impression to film (or bits) is why I take photos.

Originally from Boulder, Colorado, I currently live and work as an expatriate in the food paradise island of Penang, Malaysia with my wife, son and daughter.  Besides being a dad, husband and salaryman, I enjoy subjecting myself to physical challenges like biking across Tibet or climbing really tall mountains.  Seeking out these places where others don’t go usually rewards me with my most memorable photos.

    Tim, I hope in your next life you will be a photographer for National Geographic. Your photos glow and remind me to be excited to explore the world!
    I hope you keep ’em coming.

    Keep livin’ the dream!

    Perhaps a suggestion for a future post: what are you shooting with, and how do you manage your photo workflow? Any unique challenges to that, given your travels?
